Additional Microsoft Layoffs at Wilsonville Plant Announced Making good on its promise, software giant Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is laying off additional employees at its soon-to-be-closed factory in Wilsonville, Oregon. The latest Microsoft layoffs are an extension of the first string of job cuts, which hit the same factory earlier this year.
The biggest manufacturer of solar panels in Oregon, SolarWorld Americas Inc, is cutting 360 jobs in the state as it fights cheaper Chinese manufacturers.
Western Graphics & Data will be closing its commercial printing plant in Southeast Portland, a move that will result in the loss of all 82 jobs. Holiday Retirement, a Lake Oswego, Oregon-based senior living provider, is closing its head office, a move that will leave 186 employees out of work.
